Adolescence can be an exceptionally difficult stage of life. People may treat you like a child, but expect you to behave like an adult – when in reality you’re neither. You’re finding your way into adulthood, wanting to test out your independence – and in doing so you might be keen to know that you can still rely on care and protection from adults, but on different terms from when you were a child.
You might not feel comfortable with just sitting and talking with a counsellor, so we might find a way of working together that includes playing games or drawing or doing other creative things. However we work, it’s important that you know that it’s entirely up to you whether you have counselling or not – you are in control.
